Hello Readers!! This is my first post on Chaaps. Today I’m going to write something about my favourite website Flickr. Basically I have a interest in photography and Flickr is a social photo sharing website where you can upload photos, share with friends, rate and comment photos. It serves not only as a huge community of photographers who provide great photos there for the world to see but its an interesting place for inspiration too.

Here I’m going to list out 30+ Flickr tools to enhance your flickr experience. I’m not going to explain every tool in detail with tutorial, instead ill write a short summary so that you can click the link of each tool and go to their respective homepages. You will be guided there with a beautiful explanation about the various tools listed below. These tools help you for searching, for presentation and to use flickr in a easy way.

1. Flickroom -
Flickroom is an Adobe AIR based application that provides rich browsing experience with multiple upload facilities just by dragging from the desktop. You can also comment, mark favorite, add notes, view comments, tags, EXIF data and save photos on disk. Mainly you can Tweet about your photograph from the application itself.

2. FlickrBuddy -
This tool allows you to see and download the most interesting pictures of your flickr’s contacts. You’ll need the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (here) to run it.

3. Darckr -
Darckr is a Flickr viewer tool, with the help of flickr api it retrieves the data and displays the images. All you need to do is Integrate your flickr account with Darckr to enjoy one click basic edition of your stream, post comments without going from page to page, etc. Just give a try!

4. Flickr Explorer -
There are several uploaders for flickr but no Mass photo downloader. so Flickr Explorer serves as a Mass photo downloader for flickr.com.

5. FlickrFight -
FlickrFight service helps you to compare the Images. You select the keywords or tags to be contested. The one with the most images on flickr site wins the fight.

6. flickrSLiDR -
flickrSLiDR allows you to easily embed the classic flickr slideshows on your website or blog. All you need to do is enter the flickr URL address of the user, photo set or group you would like to embed along with some options. You’ll receive the HTML embed code in return. You can paste that code on your blog or website.

7. Multicolr Search Lab -
With the Multicolr Search Lab, you can browse through 10 million of Flickr’s most interesting Creative Commons images, and find ones that share the same colors. Choose up to 10 colors from our palette of 120 different shades.

8. UploadrXL -
UploadrXL is a program to upload one or more images to Flickr and add them immediately to your Sets of Groups. It has some good features like Multi lingual, Thumbnail preview, Multiple upload, Adding photo’s to Groups and Sets, EXIT Reader, Tag editor and it needs Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 to run smoothly.

9. Lickr –
Flickr causes delay as flash loads. Lickr strips the Flash before the user can even see it, and replaces it with an equivalent interface in pure HTML and JavaScript. Its simple – Flickr without Flash – Lickr.

10. CompFight -
Compfight is a great new tool that uses Flickr’s API to search the database of photos and then feeds back the results as live clickable thumbnails.

11. Mosaickr -
With mosaickr you can create beautiful mosaics from your flickr pictures, and even print them on posters! Creating a mosaick is easy and it’s free. Printing posters starts at 0.99 Euro.

12. Bubbler -
Bubbler is a tool to create comic strips using photo from flickr. Just search for the photos using tags or username and once you find the right photo, just drag the bubble on the photos and enter the text you want to display and your Flickr photo with bubbles is good to publish.

13. Gnickr -
Gnickr allows you to manage photos on your flickr site as if they were local files on your gnome desktop. it does this by creating a flickr virtual file system.

14. Spell With Flickr -
Spell with Flickr is a fun little program that invites users to type in whatever they want to, and then matches each letter of that word with letter pictures straight from Flickr. In simple – Spell with flick grabs images from flickr and uses them to spell what you’ve typed in.

15. Flickr Slideshow Generator -
Flickr Slideshow Generator allows you to generate the HTML necessary to embed a custom Flickr Slideshow in your page or blog.

16. Kubrickr -
Kubrickr is a tool that lets you replace that giant blue blob at the top of your WordPress 1.5 blog with a nice photo from Flickr. Simply type some words that relate to your blog and push Submit. Choose one of the photos from the that appears, and save the resulting file to your Default WordPress theme directory. It’s that easy!

17. FlickrDownloadr -
It serves as a tool for downloading photos from the Flickr.com. Flickr Downloadr is a simple and efficient tool that runs on Windows XP (new!), Windows Vista and Windows 7. The photo downloading tool will copy full size photos to your local computer.

18. Flickeur -
This tool retrieves Flickr images to create an infinite film with a style that can vary between stream-of-consciousness, documentary, or video clip. It assigns blends, motions, zooms and time-lapse to the Flickr photos randomly.

19. Flickr Logo Makr -
Flickr Logo Makr allows you to make flickr style logo.

20. FlickrFaves -
It lets you download high-resolution copies of your favorite photos in Flickr to your hard drive. You can then use those high-res photos as beautiful wallpapers for your desktop. Its a cross-platform utility written in Java.

21. Color Hunter -
Color Hunter is a place to find and make color palettes created from images. When you search for color palettes by tag, ColorHunter.com searches Flickr.com via Flickr’s API for images labeled with the tag you entered. The thumbnails of the Flickr images are used to create a color palette.

22. Flickr Flipper -
Flickr Flipper allows you to search for Flickr photos and also search for photos from specific Flickr users. It uses Paper vision to display the photos one at a time and even allows you to download the photo to your computer. Currently it only returns up to 100 photos of your search.

23. FlickrFox -
Flickrfox lets you browse flickr photostreams in a sidebar in firefox. It makes managing groups, searching tags, and keeping up with your contacts easy, and it’s a fun way to explore flickr.

24. Cooliris -
Cooliris formerly known as PicLens, this Firefox extension lets you create a cover-flow like a slideshow of your Flickr photos. It supports other photo uploading sites as well.

25. Travelr -
Travelr is a free photo gallery viewer that you can put on your own site. Travelr lets you display your Flickr photos
geographically on a world map. It takes the hassle out of supplying geographic coordinates by only requiring them once for each location – not for each photo.

26. Flickr Color Selectr -
A fun little Flickr tool that lets you search for photos on Flickr by their predominant color.

27. Flickerstorm -
Flickerstorm is a new way to search through Flickr photos. You can easily search through photos by entering a subject or topic. Flickrstorm will pull up relevant photo thumbnails through which you can scroll.

28. Flishr -
Flishr is a primer application to Download, Upload and Search photos from one central command console on your PC. Flishr has certain features that make Flickr easy to use, especially for those who need to search and download photos from Flickr or they may need to upload photos to Flickr, in a fast and easy way. Windows only (Mac version soon will be updated)

29. Slideoo -
This tool allows you to create a horizontal slideshow of your Flickr photo sets or photostreams. You just enter your Flickr username; select some customization settings, and then it will generate the necessary codes that will let you embed the horizontal slideshow to your social networking profiles, blogs and other websites where you want to display the slideshow.

Picsviewr turn your photos into visually stimulating presentations. Choose one of the 10 slideshows templates available and enjoy!

31. Chasr -
Chasr is a mini web application that allows you to display your photos from Flickr on your own website for absolutely free. You can download Chasr and install it on your own server, allowing your users to see your photos on your own website.
32. Tag Galaxy -
TagGalaxy gives you the flickr images as per Tags which you type, it shows you the subdivisions of the particular tag and you can enjoy this site.The set up, as you can probably guess, is influenced by space.

33. Findr -
The most interesting feature of this experiment is the ability to refine your search by eliminating tags. When you click on a tag, flickr returns that tag’s list of related tags. Findr then compares that list with the previous list(s) of tags and displays the intersection.
