6 Things You Can Do To Write a Killer Blog Post

Gone are the days when blogging was done just as a hobby. In last few years, the online landscape has changed a lot and Blogging has now become a full time profession and one of the most effective ways to earn online. Every day, hundreds of people are jumping on the blogging bandwagon in hopes to generate some passive income. But sadly, most of these wannabe bloggers fail and couldn’t generate a decent income from their blogs. One of the main reasons why so many bloggers didn’t get successful is inability to write their ideas and opinions in user friendly and attention grabbing way.

You must have listened the saying that it doesn’t really matter what you say, but what matters the most is how you say it. And the same rule applies to blogging too. And to help you in your blogging journey below are the few tips you should follow while writing your next post.

Don’t pay attention to Word Count – Don’t stick to any kind of word count rules. An effective blog post could be a 200 word, 500 word or even 2000 words. What matters most is the idea you are working on and the amount of information you want to cover in the post. Some topics can be well explained in just 200 words while other may easily cross 1000 words. As long as you are providing useful and relevant information in your article, it’s better to ignore the word count.

Use your own style – The term blog is derived from two words Web and Log. Blogs are the places where individuals can express their own opinions and interests in their own style. Readers love blogs because they are written and maintained by individuals and not by big companies. So avoid imitating someone else’s writing style. Your writing should reflect your personal style and your overall personality.

Use proper structure– Remember your readers are too busy to read long paragraphs so make sure that your posts are easy to scan and to the point. Divide your posts in to short paragraphs and sub categories, so that it becomes easy to skim all the information.

Do Keyword Research – You should have an idea of the phrases people are using to search for similar content. So, make sure to do some keyword research before working on the post and include those specific keywords/phrases in your content to increase your content’s chances to be found when someone searches for those keywords.

Titles are important –Well, if you have any experience of blogging then you must be knowing the importance of titles. Titles are the first thing a reader is going to see in the post. A good title can make your post go viral. Similarly a well written post but with irrelevant and poorly written title can ruin all your hard work.

Use beautiful and relevant images – A picture is worth a thousand words. So make sure to add some relevant images to your post. It will make your post to look more beautiful and will also attract the attention of your readers. But avoid adding too much images as it will clutter the post and make it hard for readers to read the content.
