Twitter Phishing Attack Via Direct Messages (Warning)

February 21, 2010

Yesterday a Mashable.com source reported that their is  a Phishing Attack on the mirco-blogging site “Twitter”. Mashable reported yesterday that users will recieve a Direct Message with a link. When pressing on the link they found that your username and password is sent to unknown source. And not long after you yourself have sent a Direct Message to your contacts.

Honestly i found this myself a little false but earlier today i received a message from someone i was following with a link. I found that i was a vicitm of the current Attack.

Twitter is still investagting the claims, but isn’t releasing any information about the attack at this time..

If you have clicked on a link via  a direct message in the last couple of days. It is recommended that you change your password “immediately”

Saw this warning on Mashable this morning. I seldom check my DMs (thanks to tons of spam) these days. And I know I’m the last person who would ever fall into a phishing attack. Damn those spammers/phishers!
