Hi friends. Remember just 1 month back we had written a post on the new Nokia N9 rumored phone surfacing around the internet. Well to your surprise it has now become hands on. Yes, engadget was the first to land its hands on this marvellous device.
Lets set aside all the rumors and lay down the facts on the table. It runs on a Meego 1.2 Harmattan Operating System and features a 3.9 inch AMOLED display. engadget has done a comparison test to check out how impressive the display works and in the result they have nothing but praises for it. The outer material is made of polycarbonate, a plastic which is known for its long term durability at least that’s what the laddies at the Finnish company have to say. It also boasts of an all-HD 8 megapixel camera.
I saved its best feature for last so here it comes. Nokia N9 has no buttons, yes surprised? The UI is a complete swipe technology, there are no buttons seen on the front end, except the three buttons seen at the right side, the smartphone is a complete masterpiece. If you would like to know the various swipe navigations, head onto NOKIA SWIPE and check it out. You can also feel the swipe experience in a virtual environment over there.
There is no official release date as of yet but you will be seeing it late this year. According to NYTimes, the pricing is set at $670 for the 16GB model and $760 for the 64GB model and is available in colours Black, Cyan and Magenta.
Drop a comment if you wish for a Nokia N9 to fall off from the sky!
Nokia N9 or as Nokia is calling it the N950 is supposedly releasing this summer. Nokia N9 is a smartphone and was rumored to be the first MeeGo powered device to hit the streets. But instead Nokia went on pursuing its Windows Phone 7 craze.
Recently a teaser video was floating around the web, posted first at pocketnow.com glimpsing the design of Nokia N9, but now we are unable to watch the video because of a copyright claim by the Nokia Corporation. Nokia possibly found the leak and patched it up. Nokia N9 is reported to run on a MeeGo 1.2 GHz processor housing 768MB of RAM memory. Internal memory will be of 64GB although can be increased with the help of a microSD card which can expand upto a maximum of 32GB. It will also feature a 12 megapixel Carl Zeiss optical camera and can capture videos at 720p. Nokia is believed to have a sliding QWERTY keyboard with a 4.2 AMOLED display. The display is a scratch resistant surface.
Other eye-catching features include Proximity sensor for automatically turning off the phone and an accelerometer sensor as well as handwriting recognition feature. Sources at techtree are claiming that Nokia N9 could be released as soon as in the next month. But those are only rumors, we dont know if Nokia will surely be releasing its smartphone any sooner. Although quite a few blogs suggests otherwise. For screenshots of the new Nokia N9 please click here.
Here is the same teaser video of the Nokia N9. Watch it before it too gets taken down by Nokia Corp. The background song that is playing in the video is Jessie’s girl. For the lyrics and its original music video please click here.

To my knowledge, this is one of the best releases by Nokia netalabs and sounds pretty impressive. Do let me know your views about this application through your comments.
You say Android Rocks or iOS is the best, But Symbian till-date is the most used mobile Operationg System. Nokia Beta labs have been impressing us by releasing some interesting products like Swype, Pixelpipe and more.
What’s hot? Google recently launched Google Reader for Android and Symbian users, since then, have been burning out in Jealousy.
Here’s an answer to them, Thanks to the Nokia betalabs.
Nokia Reader – RSS Reader for Nokia Phones
I’d give it a 3 out of 5. Though there are many flaws and bugs in the app as it is still in Beta version. There are two major drawbacks that I’d like to list:
Syncing with Google Reader not possible [Which is something that almost any other feed reader has.]
Full feed is not shown – Just the summarry is seen.
Though this application has been subject to many criticism, I give it a thumbs up for at least giving it a shot launching a feed reader application. Do share your views in the comments.

Who is the latest casualty in the smart phone market? Why, Nokia of course! The once world leaders in cell phone manufacturing have been pushed into the oblivion, thanks to the huge inflow of Gen Next smart phones. After Apple, Microsoft and Google entered the smart phone arena, once pioneers Nokia have been reduced to a mere butterfly among bulls and bears. But Nokia has now woken up from its deep slumber and is aiming to recapture their lost territory.
“It’s my aim to ensure Nokia stays as the market and intellectual leader in creating the digital world,” Anssi Vanjoki wrote in a blog on Nokia’s website.
The makers now plan to use software other than Symbian and LinuxMee Go for their products. This is in an effort to try and gain a foothold in the Gen Next cellphone market. However, there seems to be a dip in the profit share currently, but cell phone giants are confident of fighting back and re-establish themselves.
This would be good news for Nokia-loyalists. They can now dream of possessing a killer smart phone from their most trusted brand
