new Stumbleupon

StumbleUpon gets a new design…everybody goes home happy!

Many of you might know the name of the most popular link discovery service. For people who don’t, read the title of this post! See how you discovered it? That’s what StumbleUpon is all about, discovering your favorite content on the web.

The good news for Stumble-oholics is that StumbleUpon’s cialis interface has been redesigned from scratch this time and as the developers of SU are saying, its pretty slick alright!

Stumbleupon unveils a new design

First things first, the logo is pretty neat. Its like a water faucet…only better! Goodbye to the good’ol green-white StumbleUpon logo, this one is all orange, attention grabbing.

The second thing is your StumbleUpon profile page. Isn’t it nice graphics? There’s a saying, A Picture is worth a 1000 words and StumbleUpon has promised to just do that and keep the essential stuff to the eyes. When you hover over the images, the pics go into the gray mode, that’s what is called as a Call to action interface.

The next big thing is the StumbleUpon Bar, the contraption with which you can stumble sites. The SU Team have further enhanced this bar by keeping the bar restricted to the buttons which are useful to you and has gotten rid of the unwanted buttons which made it more crowded. The Bar is bigger than before. There’s also an addition of the Explore Bar with which you can stumble your interests almost immediately.

The Verge explains us that we can also bounce from interest to interest, which is good because you will easily get bored if you start landing on pages pertaining to the same topics.

the smart new stumblebar

According to StumbleUpon, there are around 20 million users registering in a single month and also the stumbles made in a month crosses the 1.2 billion mark, which is great because i am one amongst those awesome stumblers.

So if you haven’t tried StumbleUpon i guess you are missing a lot of action, try it today and tell us what was your experience!

Facebook has recently rolled out new changes to its interface in 2011. These 3 new changes consists of Better Privacy control when sharing posts, Remove unwanted tags of you, Change the visibility of your post after it has been published.

These changes hit to me just today, perhaps Facebook is going alphabetically in releasing its new changes. So lets get down and review these changes one by one. In addition you can also add location to your posts and tag people who you were with then.

FIRST CHANGE: Post status updates to a specific group of people.

While posting a status on Facebook, you now have the option to choose whom you want it to see. Just press the small gears icon in the lower right corner of the status box. While posting an update, choose from Public (Everybody), Friends (Your Friends only), Custom (Specific People only). Now your status message is seen only by the people who are eligible to see it.

That’s it. Now whenever any of your Friends tags you in a Photo, you have got to approve them before they start displaying on your profile. As soon as a Friend tags you will receive a notification. After you click it you will be taken to the Wall tab where a sub-tab called Pending Posts will appear which will help you Approve or Disapprove the Photo tags. Easy isn’t it?

THIRD CHANGE: Change the visibility of your older posts.

Many a times we think whether to make this status Public or Private and later go with Public anyway. Facebook has now released a nice feature wherein you can change all of your older posts visibility to only your Friends. Don’t worry you wont need to sit the whole night and change the visibility for every specific post.

Google Webmaster is the One Stop for all your Search Engine related Needs for your website.

Google Webmaster Tools has rolled out new features recently. Some of the Features being,

1. Capability of adding/removing Owners to Site
2. Impressions vs Clickthroughs Stats for the Search Engine Queries
3. Analytics and Complete Stats (in Graphs)

Let’s Discuss it one by One…

Capability of adding/removing Owners to Website
Earlier Google Webmaster Tools allowed only 1 administrator per website, and it sounded bit weired as there was a need for More than one person to handle bigger websites. Now Google has rolled out the feature of adding more owners for a single website. Check out the Option in the homepage

To add a New User to Your Webmaster tools. Click on “Add User” and enter their email id (Google Account)

2. Impressions vs Clickthroughs Stats for the Top Search Queries
This feature is not entirely new. Earlier the No of Impressions vs Clickthrough for the particular query made was not listed. Now with the Introduction of this feature one could easily know the Percentage of Clickthroughs for impressions. This could easily help you to get an idea on SERPs of your pages. (That is How likely your search results are clicked per query, and how much you rank for the keyword)

You Could see the above stats in your Dashboard of selected site. Expand it to View Complete Details.

3. Analytics and Complete Stats (in Graphs)
Stats when represented in a graphical manner helps in understanding your website’s Search Engine Traffic in better way.. Provides more Perfect Insights with the feel of “Google Analytics”. Here is how the Graphs looks in webmasters (Impressions vs Clickthroughs)..

To See Graphical Stats for your Webpage Expand “Your site on the web” >> “Top Search Queries” in your Webmaster Panel.

That’s it..

Every New Feature which Google adds to webmaster tools benefits Publishers in knowing their site better and provides More Control over the Site.
