Apple OS X update fixes security hole:

Apple has released a software patch that closes down a vulnerability in Mac OS X. This affects OS X Yosemite, Mavericks and Mountain Lion.

Apple has released a new security update. It appears that there has been a weak point in the integration of the Network Time Protocol (NTP). It affects Mac users with OS X Yosemite , Mavericks and Mountain Lion . The update is available via the Software Update.

Mac OS X 1

NTP: hackers had an easy time

The NTP is a standard interface over which, inter alia, the time can be synchronized.Apple indicates that there was an error in the previous implementation: Hacker probably had the opportunity to execute malicious software. The update stuffs this vulnerability. The current versions are: Yosemite version 92.5.1, 88.1.1 Mavericks, Mountain Lion 77.1.1. Check the status of your operating system from the terminal by entering the following line of code: what / usr / sbin / ntpd .

Apple plans to expand TouchID

Apple plans to expand TouchID:

Apple has always been a brand that is looked upon by the masses by  various measures due to the quality of products they come up with.So everyone is so keen on the updation and changes in the form of innovation that they bring  into their products which has always maintained International standards which is something so great . And here is an interesting news from Apple brand.TouchID is a fine thing and incredibly convenient because it just goes from your hand (or the finger) and is intuitive. However, this form of unlocking safety has some drawbacks, is made to the blog scene too fond of attention. However, a newly filed patent opens up the possibility to extend TouchID and make it safer.

How does it work? The patent states that you, as usual placed his finger on the scanner, but then appears a combination lock and one clockwise and counter-clockwise to enter a code with a slight twisting motion. It is also possible to provide a further input option. This would indeed restrict the comfort powerful, but would be doubly safe on the road. For further updates keep visiting the site.

Steve sells. Even after death.

He’s a genius, he of course is. He’s smart-ass. He’s got millions of people loving him. He founded Apple, he redefined touch, he gave a new meaning to ‘i’. He’s Jobs. Steve Jobs. Nope, I’m not gay.

Reports say Steve Jobs made a sensation in the internet after his death – 10000 tweets per second. No wonder that’s a record.

Apart from that, his biographies have shooted up by a whopping 48,000% in Amazon. I can feel the dropping of your job. Er, jaw, I mean.

Apple’s Final Cut Pro X is a disaster!

Apple launched its latest version of Final Cut Pro, (video editing software) the Final Cut Pro X on June 21st. Apple states that Final Cut Pro X is completely built from scratch and is a lot more advanced than the previous one.

FCP X consists of a high-end video editing technology that beats every other video editing software out there. Apple has put together a complete featurelist over what new improvements it holds on its predecessor. The most prominent feature being it grabs out the heart of your 64-bit CPUs and throttles it completely. Full GPU utilization and adding more speed by making use of the latest Thunderbolt I/O ports are some of the key features of FCP X.

Apparently the developers of FCP X failed to include many of its important features, such as the ability to open previous FCP projects. FCP X also revolves around a number of issues like limited XML support, no 3D support and unusability of third-party add-ons. Apple has also officially stated that all other versions of Final Cut have been discontinued. The reviews have completely gone down, the negative criticism to this app went upto such an extent that Apple had to close down new reviews, although Apple regards this as an App Store bug. As TNW has rightly said it, “We’ll treat this one as a bug, though with some skepticism.”

This app has wreaked havoc even in the HOLLYWOOD. Conan O’ Brien mocks this piece of shit openly on his show. Take a look at this video.

For a complete PROS and CONS list refer to this article.

We at CHAAPS recommend of not investing in this software, atleast until it is fully patched by Apple. If you want to still give it a try, proceed to this link and click Buy. Thanks to Apple for keeping this app as a low budget software, FCP X is currently priced at $299.

Drop a comment to share your views about this huge disaster! Will video professionals revert to some other Windows app or keep continuing working in the buggy FCP X’s environment. Share your thoughts.

The good news is you will have full control over your privacy. You can change how you want others to see you. Hiding sensitive information has just become easy. Also you can become invisible anywhere. According to MASHABLE, Friendthem lets users create geo-faces so that you can become offline in certain places such as a bar or at a conference. If in case you forget a face, another cool ‘Friendthem Later’ feature tells you exactly how and where you met that particular person in your life. Pretty cool, isn’t it? Another neat feature of this app is that along with sending friend requests it can also tell you how many mutual friends you both share! What do you think?

Working with it is simple. Just log into the app using Facebook and start using it. The application is currently available for iPhone only. In the near future, apps for Android and Windows platforms will also be released. Friendthem app founder Richard Passer tells us that he will further develop apps for Twitter and Foursquare too. Comic Craze: Steve Jobs next on the line!

Steve Jobs is going to become a comic star. Yes every other kid on the planet is going to know him now. The comic books publisher “Bluewater Productions” had already released earlier a comic book character based on Mark Zuckerberg. It sold out very quickly.

Now its Steve Jobs turn. Although the publisher didn’t give any superhero name to him, the book has been titled as “Steve Jobs: The co-founder of Apple”. It is a 32 page comic book unlike Mark Zuckerberg’s lengthy 48 page comic book, this book will definitely catch millions of eyes.

The book consists of a biography of the legend in a comical illustration. According to Bluewater Productions President Darren Davis:

“His innovations command front page news, speculation on his health affects the stock market. Not bad for a college dropout, I’m surprised it took us this long to publish a proper, balanced biography of him.”

Perhaps this Stevey comic craze has hit every other comic book publisher. A similar biography of Steve Jobs is all set to be published by yet another technik, CNN king-pin and also a former TIME whiz “Walter Isaacson” called as iSteve: The Book of Jobs which is supposed to release on March 6,2012. But that’s a bit late in queue.

The book by Bluewater Publications is already available for pre-order at Amazon and is tagged at just $3.99. Grab your copy right now. Other famous titles published by Bluewater Productions include “Sarah Palin”, “Adam West”, “Angelina Jolie” and also the famous popstar “Lady Gaga”.

Slice a comment to let us know what you think about this comic craze. Are you a Comic book fanatic like our Sheldon Cooper or are you not intrigued by Comic books at all? Let us know.

iMac cranked up with Thunderbolt!

Apple has recently released its newest series of iMac lineups. The surprising thing about these is that they are fitted with the latest technology, the ‘Thunderbolt’ high speed I/O ports. It thrashes even the USB 3.0 standard which is the latest in technology. If you have not read our review about the USB 3.0 here it is USB 3.0 to power a new era.

Thunderbolt had already made its debut in Macbook Pro this year, now Apple has integrated the Thunderbolt ports even in its 21.5 inch and 27 inches iMacs. Apple is not only upgrading its ports but also its internal hardware, revamping the whole system. With the Thunderbolt, comes (wait for it) the Intel ‘Sandy Bridge’ second generation Quad Core i5 and i7 CPUs also dont forget the AMD Radeon HD 6750M and 6970M graphics card. After a complete overhaul of the iMac, imagine what the price tag will be?

Here is a complete featurelist of what the iMac will be withholding together:

21.5 inch                                   27 inch

1920×1080 pixel IPS panel            2560×1440 pixel IPS display

2.5GHz QUAD-CORE Core i5 CPU           3.1 GHz QUAD-CORE Core i5 CPU

AMD Radeon HD 6750M         AMD Radeon HD 6970M

500GB HDD           1TB HDD

1 Thunderbolt port       2 Thunderbolt ports

4 USB 2.0 ports

Firewire 800 port

Gigabit Ethernet

Facetime HD webcam

PRICE TAG: $1,199           $1,999

The above specifications are factory installed configuration. However you can configure your PC parts while ordering, such as add a new Graphics card or upgrade your CPU to an i7. Also according to the latest news from AppleInsider you can remove the existing Graphics card and install a new one later without the need to replace the whole logic board.

With the enormous addition of Thunderbolt ports, Apple has already made a statement. Thunderbolt ports are believed to be twice as faster than USB 3.0 ports. Delivering a classic 10Gbps data transfer speeds, Thunderbolt has flushed the USB 3.0 down the drain. Also the new integration of Facetime HD gives users the capability to video call through other Apple devices such as iPhone’s and iPad’s.

Diwali Dhamaka from Apple: iPhone 4 to Hit Indian Market in October

What is special about Diwali this year? Crackers? Sweets? Wake up guys! Its the iPhone 4 which is all set to a grand welcome in India. Bharti’s Airtel made an official announcement that it would launch the iPhone in India by the September-October. This is great news for tech geeks in India who are waiting for a chance to lay their hands upon the latest apple product. The news of the launch was confirmed by Bharti Airtel’s COO Sanjay Kapoor.

The predecessor of iPhone 4 i.e iPhone 3GS was launched in late March this year by Airtel as well as Vodafone. With Airtel already having made an official announcement, arch rivals Vodafone are expected to take a plunge too and reveal their launch plans. However, pricing is likely to be an issue of major concern as far as the Indian subcontinent is concerned as customers are likely to stay away from heavy prices.

New iPhone app, Pepsi Loot. Get freebies for an entry in restaurants!

[ad#ankit1]I have some good news for all Pepsi lovers who love to enter any venue which contains Pepsi products that now they can earn rewards in the process thanks to the newly released iPhone app — Pepsi Loot.

Pepsi Loot

This app made with help of Pepsi will allow iPhone users to locate Pop Spots (Pepsi-selling food service venue) in the Base section of the app and can visit the venue to earn rewards. iPhone users can also use a detailed version of map which allows them to filter pop spots or such venues by cuisine type. Users can access a more detailed map that allows them to filter Pop Spots by cuisine type.

Once accumulated enough rewards points they can visit Loot Section to view various goodies available and watch music videos from featured artists. For every three checking or visiting three such pop spots, each consumers will earn a free digital song download at the Pepsi Loot Store.

Some restaurants will offer freebies to Pepsi Loot users or consumers, so consumers and customers checking in a Pop Spots may find that certain venues or pop spots offer free Pepsi with the purchase of an entry. It should be interesting to see how consumers respond to the one-off brand-specific location app.

Pepsi is now also a non-beverage partner of Foursquare. Though the terms are still being worked out, Foursquare’s Tristan Walker tells us that they will be conducting several experiments with retailers to see if they can move more Pepsi products.

He also clarified that Foursquare isn’t involved with the Pepsi Loot app. So any user using this great app can share his /her reviews with us about the application.

Apple Shows Off HTML5 and Safari 4

As reported via several Blogs, Companies, and people on social networking sites, HTML5 will be the next Flash. Well Apple has recently released Safari 4. And the new changes haven’t surprised me at all, esp the new features Apple has added.

In Safari 4 Apple has added “HTML 5, CSS3, and Javascript” according to apple. Of course apple doesn’t leave anything quite, they have to show off like usual and so they should. Well apple today launched a page on the Apple.com website called “HTML5”

Yes, Apple is showing off HTML5. And knowing apple you most be using “Safari 4” to check out the demos. On the site you are able to check out the new ways of how you can use HTML 5 and CSS3 in various ways. Apple is also outlining you can embed Videos and Audio files without any plug-ins or third party software or scripts.

After a while of checking out the demos and doing a little tests, i was surprised on the outcome of my results. HTML5 and CSS3 seemed to be liter and faster to load than HTML4 and CSS2. The new versions of the coding languages seem to allow you to do anything, and without the need for large file sizes, and no lag. That’s right Safari didn’t effect my CPU, or Physical memory that much, in fact it proformas better than FireFox. Well , on my laptop anyway.

Overall the updated browser raising up to the new Web Standards is great. Now we only have to wait for IE and FireFox to meet the new needs of the latest new versions of HTML and CSS.
