OLIVEPAD-VT100 : India’s answer to iPad

While we wait for Notion inks -Adam to come to the market , OLIVE TELECOM launches a 3G tablet OLIVEPAD-VT100. The device was unveiled by Mr. Arun Khanna, Chairman, Olive Telecom Mr. David Hind, CEO, Olive Telecom, Americas and Mr. Artem Orange, CEO, Olive CIS/CEE.

The key Features of OlivePad are:

  • Android Operating System 1.6
  • 3.5G HSUPA
  • Wi-fi
  • Bluetooth
  • 3 megapixel camera and a front camera
  • GPS with google maps and map my india
  • e-book reader
  • flash support
  • mini USB port

Olive Pad come @ a price of  25,000 . Quite expensive i feel. No Information about the battery back-up is available .It is said to have some heating issues. The touch interface is decent and comes with a little scratch resistant screen . The look of the device is quite fat but i’d say decently designed. Hope to see more of such devices in the Indian market. Hopefully by end of the year Indian market will be flooded by Tabloid Pc’s  from Nokia , Motorola and other major players.
