Nintendo Wii is a video game console developed by Nintendo and manufactured by Foxconn. Wii was first launched in November 2006. Its rivals being Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 have always outrun Wii. To whom it may concern: Re: Wii’s successor system
Nintendo Co., Ltd. has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.
We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.
Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term ending March 2012.
Nintendo has made a good call by announcing its release of the newest console as its sales are already falling rapidly and this is the time to give a hard blow on its competitors, Microsoft and SONY.
According to the latest report by IGN, Nintendo is gonna be a lot more powerful than its predecessor. The Nintendo Wii will be housing a revamped version of AMD’s R700 GPU architecture under the hood, which can easily outperform Playstation 3’s Nvidia 7800-GTX processor. The system will support HD resolutions of 1080p and also will be stereoscopic 3D enabled. The CPU will be a custom built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset with unimaginable clocking speeds. So much to say, Microsoft and SONY will already be threatened by such advanced schematics of the Wii 2 that they will bite their own tongue.
If IGN’s sources are correct, Wii is gonna pose as a serious threat to its rivals and hopefully will rekindle its lost passion among gamers.
As for the pricing, Wii is expected to cost around $350-$400. How well the Wii 2 will promise to perform this time will only be revealed at the Expo this June. As for your comments we are very excited to hear what your say is.
Please comment as to what you feel about the new Wii! Will it break the barriers of Xbox and PS3 or will it still continue to remain as an outcast. Your views are important to us!
