Chaaps.com being a Tech Blog was doing rounds across the web in search of any technology news..
Doing So, it discovered a unique discussion which was going on in one of the VTU forums.
The Discussion, Begins with Wonderful Question by a student who just enters his Branch Electronics Under Engineering Course. Puts up The Question EC, how to make it?

I will Be Posting the Discussions for this topic as it is.

EC, how to make it?
Hi,

I am studying 3rd SEM EC (VTU), I took EC even though I liked Civil because of a hype or boom of that time, Now I am finding it very difficult to play with it. I want suggestions and guidance from my fellow seniors “How to tackle EC”, you may feel it very funny but its really not, for me . Whateva I am studying, my final aim is public administration (IAS and IFS). My primary goal is to pass B.E within 4 yrs (as of now 3 yrs )

Pls help me seniors?!

Krishna:::

Then, why cant you try change of branch?
EC is not at all an eazy subject
You should have a proper knowledge of maths and solving problems
Then, its very difficult to clear the subjects by the final moment studies….
So I think you better change the branch

*There is only one mantra for success– REGULAR and HARD studies…

*N yes, there ll be loads of ppl who ll tell u local autor books r amazin n all tat…
Believe me, they r NOT!
Stick to ur prescribed books, they explain concepts better, but there r subjects where even the prescribed books r not sufficient…
If u want, read from local author books to get a hazy, dull picture of wat the subject is all about…
But consolidate the concepts by readin the prescribed(and reference) book(s)…

*Understand ur concepts n study rather than just mugging up, believe me it works wonders….
Be strong in ur basics, it helps a LOT…

*As the above person said, u have to be good at Maths but tat is more or less limited to Communication-related subjects…

*Study all 8 units and dont leave anything for choice, u ll come to know the importance of this when the time is right…
It might sound crazy, but then again good things come to those who work hard…

*N lastly as my HOD says, consistent and sustained effort is required…
Not like today u study for 6 hrs n take rest for next 6 days…
Instead, just glance thru ur notes for some time everyday…
Keep in touch with ur subjects n see wat happened everyday in coll…

Gopal:::
Oh, just one more thing…
This thing called “internet”…
There r loads of other uses it has apart from chatting n playin online games…
Use it wisely, n u ll know wat a vast ocean it is…

Rahul:::

Such a nerdy thread!

Krish:::

Obviously I should b’come nerdy else I am gone.

Gopal:::

Yeah, true but wat u overlook is the fact that every good thing, comes from the brain of a nerd

U know, when I was in 3rd sem, I used to wonder y there r sooooo many engineers passin out every year while only a handful got into places like IISc, MIT, MCU, etc…
N when it came to jobs, even lesser got into amazing places like Intel, NVidia n places like tat…
N the reason is becoming apparent slowly now…
As far as Ive been able to find out, u ve to be extremely good in Electronics, Computer science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a little more than basic Mechanical, Electrical sciences for this…
U look at most of the BE students coming out of VTU n MU n stuff n they r like, “God Im happy Ive passed my enginering”!!!

There r not many of those who r serious about studies, all every1 cares about is which movie to go, which game to play n so on…
Oh btw, the game tat u play also was developed by nerds n I dont have to tell how much ppl despise nerds, do I?
N the thousands of algorithms that make a mobile work, which is wat u use under ur bench everyday in coll, was developed by nerds…
The Dolby DTS which gives u such amazing sounds in the theatre was developed by nerds

Bottom line:
PEOPLE HATE NERDS WHEN THE FACT IS THEY CANT LIVE WITHOUT THINGS DEVELOPED BY NERDS

Life is ironic indeed

Rahul:::

was Albert Einstein a NERD?……..you dont have to slog day in and day out to invent or discover new things……..and most importantly…life can still go on without computers ……if you are talented you can survive in this world……. if you are studious and a 90% scoring student without any communication skills or extra curricular activities then where can you get placed…??….
and most importantly, all the nerds are social rejects!!
Nerds

Gopal:::

Not every human being is as talented as Einstein was…
When u r TAT talented, a few minutes of effort is suffiecient to get the work done…
U dont ve to slog all day…

Excuse me, but there s life beyond placements…
If u r really strong in ur concepts, then irrespective of ur communication skills, research always has a place for u…
This is exactly y India has so much service-oriented companies…
All ppl care about is placements…
Get placed, take hell lot of loans, n try n fill those loans till there s breath in ur life…
N this is the truth out there in the world even with ppl who r “supposeldy” brilliant…

Oh, as for being a social reject, hardly matters…
When u r so into ur subject, u hardly even give a damn if ppl really care for u or not…
It doesn really matter…
Coz at max, nerds miss out on fun…
Not even tat, coz fun is how u define it for urself…
If I say football is fun, it is for me…
If I say Maths is fun, it is for me…
N ultimately, wat is imprtant is one should feel he/she is having fun accordin to his/her definition…
Who gives a damn wat someone else feels????

  • LOL … very funny but indeed a true point from GOPAL..

    According to me, the only thing that matters is skill.. no matter if you score less than the aggregated marks but if you’ve got the skills – you can always survive in this competitive world.
