iTunes sells jaw dropping 10 billion songs!!!

February 26, 2010

10 Billion. Many of the guys here would be commenting that I may have added and extra ’0′. NO, the figures are right.

Apple today announced that the toll for the music downloads from Apple’s Itunes crossed 10 billion.

The lucky 10th Billion song downloaded was  “Guess Things Happen That Way” by Johnny Cash, was purchased by Louie Sulcer of Woodstock, Georgia. Apple is a rich company so it won’t disappoint Louie and it further gave him a gift coupon of  $10,000 with a song. :D

I wish I was that lucky guy.

“We’re grateful to all of our customers for helping us reach this amazing milestone,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services. “We’re proud that iTunes has become the number one music retailer in the world, and selling 10 billion songs is truly staggering.”

Anyways just for record I haven’t downloaded a single song from Apple Store. :-(
