Google’s 2009- The Top Ten List


In 2009 Google was launching like no tomorrow. We had the launch of Google Docs, to the announced of Chrome OS (Chrome Operating System).


Well Google was nice enough to share its top 10 posts on its blog for 2009. And these results don’t come with a shock.

1.Introducing the Google Chrome OS

This is one that doesn’t come with a surprise. You may remember when Google Chrome OS was introduced to the world. Google had announced on the 7/07/09 that they where releasing a operating system, based on a leading web browser Google Chrome

2.Went Walkabout. Brought back Google Wave

The most talked about web communication calibration tool on Twitter, and shocked the Internet community. Google wave was the most talked topic on twitter for over a week in Twitter’s trending topic’s. Google Wave was made as if email was invented in the 21st century.

3.Here comes Google Voice

Google Voice has come in third. Another online communication tool created by Google, to allow Internet users to talk in both IM format or like your on the phone.

4.This site may harm your computer” on every search result?!?!

In forth, Google’s new security tool for search results. Google added a new feature to Google search that warns users if a site their entering is dangerous.

5.Email in Indian languages

In fifth place. Google released a update of Gmail, that allowed users to email in any Indian Language. This was a massive hit in tech news for Indian Gmail users.

6.Releasing the Chromium OS open source project

Google not long after its announcement of Chromium OS. Released the Open Source Project to developers to build applications for its operating system, “Chromium”.

7.Now you see it, now you don’t

In seventh place, is Google Search new display feature. The new feature hid hyperlinks until a user toggled their mouse.

8.Google Apps is out of beta (yes, really)

In eighth place, we have Google releasing some of its major web applications having the beta tag’s removed.Now all all of them  (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk) are the used daily by millions of internet users.

9.Now S-U-P-E-R-sized!

In ninth  place, we have Google’s search box changing size. This change allowed users to type more in the Google’s Search box.

10.Introducing Google Public DNS

Lucky last we have Google releasing a public DNS tool which converts domain names into unique Internet Protocol (IP) numbers.

In 2009 we have seen alot of google over the year of 2009. Tho Google did shut down some of its old applications that many users did depend on. Tho Google did make up it for new things that replaced the old.

In 2010 i think we can expect a whole lot of new things. Google a couple of weeks ago released Google Desktop Esstiasals for MAC and PC. Is their more to come?
