Google and Twitter in the Red?

As of the 29th of November both Twitter, and Google are going Red to assist the support of “World Aids Day”.
At 4:59 PM AEST Google announced that its going red, with Twitter. Google’s Official blog states that ,“from approx. 4 am EST (for 24 hours), include #red to turn your tweets the color red”..
If you have already seen the twitter homepage it seems that things are already taking in effect. The Google Australia home page already has a advertisement Worlds Aids Day.
Not only is twitter and google involved, Alica Keys will also be preforming Tuesday night (December 1st) starting at 8pm EST on Youtube Live, to benefit the cause.
