Looks Like Yahoo! is Very Serious to Curb “Phishing” attacks. For those who don’t know what is Phishing can see Phishing and Reporting a Phishing Website.
.
What is Phishing?
Phishing is when a fraudster sends you an email or link, claiming to be from a legitimate company. They’ll often send you to a fake website they’ve created, and trick you into entering your password and personal information. You’re then an easy target for account theft.
.
Just today I tried to login to my yahoo account to see this special notification at top.

As I noticed the Finger Impression symbol, My first impression was “Is Yahoo! Creating Finger Printing test to authenticate our accounts? :0 “. No I was wrong, As I clicked on Create your Sign-in Seal I understood the whole concept behind this. Yahoo! is just trying to Insert a small piece of picture or text to our login pages which it calls as “Seal”. Reason: To Keep yourself safe from Phishing.
To Create your Own Sign-in Seal Follow These Steps
- Click on “Create your Sign-in Seal“ at Yahoo login Page
- Customize your Personalized Seal with Image or Text

-Here is a Preview of Seal containing Image

-Here is a Preview of Seal Containing a Text

Once You are done save your Personalized Yahoo Sign-in Seal
Next Time , when you Enter Password, Yahoo Prompts you to Check whether The Sign-in Seal is same as yours..

Now You are Completely safe from Phishing Trouble. What do you think of Yahoo’s move in introducing this Special Sign-in Seal?
Do you think the Other Email Giants like Gmail and Hotmail should introduce a Feature similar to this?
