Sony Playstation Vita – A new PSP for gamers

Sony just announced its Playstation Vita at the E3 2011 held yesterday. A new PSP device for gamers which has been codenamed NGP. The PSP has been named “Vita” meaning “Life” in latin. Sony is having positive feelings about this gadget as it already breaks Nintendo 3DS specs.

Sony had already been discussing about NGP a few months back but we were not clear as to what it housed under that hood. But now we are all sure that this new kid will create a serious competition against its top contenders. Sony Playstation Vita runs on ARM Cortex A9 (4 core) CPU, fires up a mighty SGX543MP4+ GPU, has a 5″ OLED touchscreen display, six-axis motion sensing system, front and rear facing cameras, two joysticks and to top it all off, has a touchpad on the rear too! With these specs around gamers will be so excited to get their hands dirty with its slick gameplay and also i totally forgot to say R.I.P Nintendo 3DS. Of course for a great gameplay you’ll need fast wireless internet you could help this with the asus best wireless router for gaming, and play at amazing speeds.

According to an article in the UK newspaper Mirror,

The device will allow gamers to be connected with one other over mobile phone networks and wi-fi hotspots, and use GPS location-tracking technology. It will also enable gamers to play against people using PlayStation 3 consoles over the internet-based PlayStation Network.

CNET announced that the device will also offer a social-networking component called Near that lets gamers play against friends with Vitas nearby.

SONY also gave a demo of some of their famous gaming titles including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Ruin, ModNation RacersLittleBigPlanet and Street Fighter x Tekken. Regarding the pricing, the PSVITA is tagged at $249 for Wi-Fi only and $299 for the 3G/Wi-Fi version. Playstation Vita is all set to release by the end of 2011. engadget managed to get a hands-on at the E3, take a look over here.

Apple goes berserk! iOS5, Mac OSX Lion and iCloud at WWDC

Apple is launching its iOS 5 mobile operating system, MAC OS X Lion desktop operating system and also its iCloud service: Apple’s very own Cloud service to be held at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco, this June 6.

According to engadget, the team will be focused on its latest software enhancements and also its release of the newest, MAC OS X Lion operating system. This is gonna be a big day because some folks at Buzzle are already regard this as a clash between Apple and the Android developers since Google already launched its latest Android OS the “Ice Cream Sandwich” just this month. The release will be done by Steve Jobs himself along with other executives.

The launch of iOS 5 is creating a major buzz for the Apple users. Some customers are already creating a wishlist of what improvements they would like to add in the new release. If you want to know what other people are thinking, browse through this gallery as BusinessInsider brings it to you. Regarding the iOS 5 features, this time it will introduce voice control to type the text automatically and widgets too possibly to compete with the Android, as we have seen Android OS is full of widgets. Of course, there will be integration of NFC chips and Cloud computing (Google wallet and iCloud respectively). GET IT? Other than these there’s a fully redone user interface and addition of an updated camera app (iPhone 4S will have a 8-megapixel camera), thats why!

Coming to MAC OS X Lion, this is going to be a major concern at the WWDC this time. According to CNET, the poor MAC OSX Snow Leopard was already being hit by a rogue antivirus causing a MAC malware scare so you will possibly see the release of a software update for SL. Moving on, there is a pretty nice featurelist we are going to see in Lion this time, some of them being, introduction of Wi-Fi Direct, wireless iTunes sync capability, Finder,Mail,AirDrop and iCal improvements.

iCloud service being new one on the line, we have not been able to gather much news about it but our reporters at CNET say that Apple will integrate “music features” with the Cloud support. Already deals have been made with the music giants such as EMI Music, Warner Music and SONY Music.

Here is an official PRESS RELEASE made by Apple.

Now its time for your comment. Tell us what your thoughts are about Apple. Will Apple keep dominating the industry or will Android overtake them soon? Also if you are an attendee at the WWDC 2011 please share with us your latest updates!

Sony Playstation Network back online

Sony’s Playstation network which was hacked recently is back online but only in a select few countries. Restoration will soon be done to other countries. Sony had said that the planted file in the hack attack was named ‘Anonymous’ possibly done by the hacker group at Anonymous.

Although ‘Anonymous’ consisting of highly professional experienced hackers denied that the hack was from their end and claims to not have been involved in any kind of such act but according to their official blog at they say that the group as a whole was not a part of such fraud but the individual members may have been. Source to the article right here.
That being said many of Sony’s customers want to already cancel their service and demand a refund. Sony inspite of getting sued due to this gigantic data breach and lossage of several customers credit card information, are still keeping quite.

Ashamed of their unsecure network environment, Sony decided to instead put a smile on their customers faces by giving them a free 30-day Playstation Plus membership, 30 days of free Qriocity service and unlimited music to its customers and also a free software of some sort as announced by Sony’s VP, Kaz Harzai from the official HQ at Japan on 1st May. Well that, we dont want Sony!

According to the latest news at engadget, Sony has begun its restoration services and currently only North America has been fully restored. Other nations such as Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, South America, UK and Ireland have partially been restored. I think Asian countries will be the last one to receive its treasured services. Meanwhile our friends at Japan are unwilling to co-operate with Sony and will resume its PSN services only when their demands are met. Their demands being, unless and until Sony takes all its preventive measures and ensures us that further such attacks wont happen again we will not turn PSN back on. They also said that the “company promised” counter-hacking measures have not yet been fulfilled. Other issues being unclear, we will try to bring you the latest updates, as soon as they are released by engadget people at Japan. Reports here.

So its time for your precious views! Please comment to share with us your valuable insights.

iMac cranked up with Thunderbolt!

Apple has recently released its newest series of iMac lineups. The surprising thing about these is that they are fitted with the latest technology, the ‘Thunderbolt’ high speed I/O ports. It thrashes even the USB 3.0 standard which is the latest in technology. If you have not read our review about the USB 3.0 here it is USB 3.0 to power a new era.

Thunderbolt had already made its debut in Macbook Pro this year, now Apple has integrated the Thunderbolt ports even in its 21.5 inch and 27 inches iMacs. Apple is not only upgrading its ports but also its internal hardware, revamping the whole system. With the Thunderbolt, comes (wait for it) the Intel ‘Sandy Bridge’ second generation Quad Core i5 and i7 CPUs also dont forget the AMD Radeon HD 6750M and 6970M graphics card. After a complete overhaul of the iMac, imagine what the price tag will be?

Here is a complete featurelist of what the iMac will be withholding together:

21.5 inch                                   27 inch

1920×1080 pixel IPS panel            2560×1440 pixel IPS display

2.5GHz QUAD-CORE Core i5 CPU           3.1 GHz QUAD-CORE Core i5 CPU

AMD Radeon HD 6750M         AMD Radeon HD 6970M

500GB HDD           1TB HDD

1 Thunderbolt port       2 Thunderbolt ports

4 USB 2.0 ports

Firewire 800 port

Gigabit Ethernet

Facetime HD webcam

PRICE TAG: $1,199           $1,999

The above specifications are factory installed configuration. However you can configure your PC parts while ordering, such as add a new Graphics card or upgrade your CPU to an i7. Also according to the latest news from AppleInsider you can remove the existing Graphics card and install a new one later without the need to replace the whole logic board.

With the enormous addition of Thunderbolt ports, Apple has already made a statement. Thunderbolt ports are believed to be twice as faster than USB 3.0 ports. Delivering a classic 10Gbps data transfer speeds, Thunderbolt has flushed the USB 3.0 down the drain. Also the new integration of Facetime HD gives users the capability to video call through other Apple devices such as iPhone’s and iPad’s.

Nintendo Wii is a video game console developed by Nintendo and manufactured by Foxconn. Wii was first launched in November 2006. Known for its motion gaming technology Wii captured many hearts and promised to be one of the best gaming technology ever created. Its rivals being Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 have always outrun Wii. Statistics taken from November 2006 – March 2010 records a whopping 86.01 million Wii units to be sold worldwide but the Wii suffered a major decline last year selling a mere 15.1 million units.

Nintendo Wii 2

The latest news by Nintendo is that, its planning to release its next console in March 2012. The successor will be named Wii 2 and is codenamed: ‘Project Cafe’. The company announced that a playable version of the system will be unveiled at the E3 Gaming expo to be held in Los Angeles on June 7th. Click here to read the Official Press Release made by the company on this April 25, 2011.

Nintendo Wii 2 vibrant

Nintendo states:

April 25, 2011

To whom it may concern: Re: Wii’s successor system

Nintendo Co., Ltd. has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.

We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.

Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term ending March 2012.

Nintendo Wii 100% HD

Nintendo has made a good call by announcing its release of the newest console as its sales are already falling rapidly and this is the time to give a hard blow on its competitors, Microsoft and SONY.

According to the latest report by IGN, Nintendo is gonna be a lot more powerful than its predecessor. The Nintendo Wii will be housing a revamped version of AMD’s R700 GPU architecture under the hood, which can easily outperform Playstation 3’s Nvidia 7800-GTX processor. The system will support HD resolutions of 1080p and also will be stereoscopic 3D enabled. The CPU will be a custom built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset with unimaginable clocking speeds. So much to say, Microsoft and SONY will already be threatened by such advanced schematics of the Wii 2 that they will bite their own tongue.

Nintendo Wii Blu-Ray

If IGN’s sources are correct, Wii is gonna pose as a serious threat to its rivals and hopefully will rekindle its lost passion among gamers.
As for the pricing, Wii is expected to cost around $350-$400.  How well the Wii 2 will promise to perform this time will only be revealed at the Expo this June. As for your comments we are very excited to hear what your say is.

Nintendo Wii HD

Please comment as to what you feel about the new Wii! Will it break the barriers of Xbox and PS3 or will it still continue to remain as an outcast. Your views are important to us!

Sony egresses with Android tablets

Sony is coming up with its own version of twin tablets running Google’s Android operating system. The tablets are codenamed as S1 and S2, will go on sale towards the end of the year.

Here is the first look pictures released by electronic giants:

This is one more major step for Android platform which is currently the fastest growing and is expected to claim a 38% market share by 2015.

Sony’s entry into the tablet market was much long anticipated, but comes relatively late in the day compared to other manufacturers. Apple launched its first version of the industry-leading iPad in April 2010 whose iOS system is expected to remain dominant for several years to come, albeit with a diminished share of sales.

Sony said that its first tablets would come in two form factors: one will have a conventional 9.4 inch touchscreen, while the other will feature dual 5.5 inch displays that fold closed.

In addition to the base Android Honeycomb operating system, Sony will add several of its own features, including the ability to transmit video and music to TVs and stereos using the DLNA wireless streaming standard.

It is suggested that there would also be some form of integration with its PlayStation network and the possibility of gaming functions.

What’s its future!!
Market analysts say – a bright future. Although there are several devices running the same Android softwares, the strength of the Sony name will likely help the electronics giant to gain some traction in the fragmented tablet market.

But Sony’s tablet success would depend on whether the technical specifications looked as good when the devices eventually launch as they do now.

I know – waiting is painful..but Keep smiling guys!!
