Yesterday, the blog giant Mashable had published an article regarding facebook status tips and tricks. Nice article, though the tenth point was totally an eye-blender. The 10th point in that article was:
10. HOW TO: Play a Trick On Your Friends in Your Status Update
We have a funny one to end on — a way to play an amusing trick on your Facebook buddies. This clever link “http://facebook.com/profile.php?=73322363″ looks like it could be a URL for anyone’s Facebook profile, actually takes anyone logged into Facebook to their own profile page.
If you try it out, be sure to remove the link preview that Facebook auto-ads. Have fun, and don’t be too mean…
Try all these links and it’ll redirect your browser to your own facebook profile only:
- http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?=8643
- http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?=973102
I tried it out and it did just as what they said it would do. I was quite amused but a little later I replaced the number “73322363″ with other different number combinations and again it redirected to my own facebook profile. Then I remembered that any link in facebook followed by a question mark ‘?’ doesnt matter much.
Blog giants like Mashable committing such silly mistakes is too hard to take.
